Problem

What needed solving.

During Tawaf, a pilgrim who pauses can lose the group: men in ihram look alike, flags fail indoors, calls drown in crowd noise, and the one-way flow blocks turning back.

Approach

How I approached it.

A smart bracelet paired with a leader app. Four states — Normal, Warning, Danger, Emergency — ask less of the pilgrim as risk rises: move closer, then stop and wait, then stay still. A separate recovery path leads back to Normal and tightens with severity.

Evaluation planned

Planned, not run.

No completed test results.

Takeaway

What this one leaves behind.

A 53-page team submission: problem, context, persona, sensing, state model, 16 screens plus a phone and bracelet view per state, coordination, 11 risks, scenarios and a formative evaluation plan. No build, no pilot, no safety claim beyond the design itself.
